¿Bon Chon?
September 29th, 2009 @ 9:47 pm

Today, since our Geology lab professor canceled class, Ricky & I decided to meet up for lunch. He’s never had Bon Chon Chicken before, so I decided to help him pop his Bon Chon cherry. I guess I’ve posted a lot about me eating Bon Chon but never fully explained it. Bon Chon is basically a Korean chain restaurant of the best fried chicken that will ever touch your tongues (at least in my opinion). There are a bunch up in the New York/New Jersey area & one located here in Virginia. Its fried chicken like you’ve never had before. Gaaah, mouth is just drooling thinking about it. The flavors are soy garlic (mild) & spicy and they’re served with pickled radishes. To be honest, I don’t really think I can explain the awesomeness in words, so I’m going to stop.

The chicken.

The culprits.

Afterwards, he had to drop by his house to pick up envelopes for FCA and I invited myself in. His little sister was there (little as in senior in high school) and she is just so adorable! She has super edgy/cute short hair, pale skin, and the most amazing Hello Kitty collection ever. It put me in shame. Shame shame shame. I would trade my sister for Ricky’s sister any day. We share love for Hello Kitty & I think its funnier if he gets bullied by Trang than me. Jay kay, jay kay. Or am I ;D? But as typical Asian families go, his parents & sister think we are dating D:~ Isn’t it slightly typical that if a son brings a girl home, the parents are like, “ZOMGAH! DAT ISH GIRLFRAN, YES? WEN YOU GET THE MARRIED?! GRANDKIDS?” But if a daughter brings a guy home, the parents are like, “ZOMGAH. NO BOYFRAN FOR YOOH/HE GONNA RAPE YOU/YOU ARE SLUT!” But yes, I would like to emphasize that Ricky & I are just good friends :).

Aside from that, I’ve been really obsessed/intrigued with Vietnamese pop culture lately thanks to Viet Channel I know, getting back to my roots. I really wanna go back to the mother land ;____;~ I’ve been watching a few trailers for Vietnamese movies.

Chuyen Tinh Xa Xu/Passport to Love

Bay Rong/Clash

JOHNNY TRI IS SO HOT :O
SO MANY JUMP KICKS, LOL!!!

I’m sad that Passport to Love isn’t being released in the D.C. area since there is a high amount of Vietnamese people hurrs, but I guess all the Viet people here are kinda old and lame. I know they’re showing it in parts of California and Texas, so if you go, please let me know how it is! I wanted to buy it, but cannot find anywhere & I don’t think the Vietnamese DVD stores would carry something that’s not Paris by Night :shivers: Its also a huge shock to me how good these trailers are cause I thought that the only Vietnamese movies that existed were the ones that depicted ancient China life or something (HAHA! I am so closed off from the real world, I know) But aside from that, I am trying to learn how to read Vietnamese slowly by sounding out words on Zing.vn. So far its been total fail.

WARNING: For some odd reason, I talk a lot about clothes & its probably really boring.

Today, Trang & I went shopping. This post would’ve ended there if I hadn’t bought anything, but since I did, I guess I should go ahead and share what I bought. Although, it has been quite a while since I’ve gone shopping properly and not “shopping” as in quickly skimming through stores before/after work and alone. It’s even been a much longer time since I’ve gone shopping with Trang without her boyfriend or without her texting her boyfriend every five steps. So today was pretty enjoyable & productive (in the shopping sense).

Mini boxes from the dollar section
& film for lomography cameras from Target.

Skirt,belt,leggings from F21 | Dress from H&M ★ ☆ ★

I really really love the skirt I got at Forever 21. Unlike most of their skirts (which I won’t even dare to walk in), it’s actually pretty long and lands right about my knee (I think?). Trang hates it though cause it’s so dull & dark D:~ Well actually, both Phana & Trang have noticed I wear really dark colors. Every time I go shopping with them, I end up choosing black, gray, white, or dark dark navy clothes to try on. Iunno why, but recently I’ve found colors to be unreasonably obnoxious. Probably because my mindset is officially in “must shop for winter clothes & only winter clothes” mode.

Now the H&M dress probably looks really gross in that picture up there, but its really not! I was browsing in a different H&M than my usual, and I didn’t see anything new until that caught my eye. At first I just wanted to try it on cause the pattern was so unusual but I assumed it would fit weird cause a lot of H&M clothes fits weird on me. It wasn’t the case when I put it on. I was pretty insecure/unsure about it at first, but it fit like a glove and the people I knew working there encouraged me to buy it, so I did.

The dress is cut pretty similarly to AA’s Double U-Neck Dress, except the back isn’t as low. I’m still kinda unsure what to wear with it. I could probably make it feminine with tights & flats, but will probably make use of my knock-off martens (also from H&M) to be manly. Heck, I will probably throw my AA circle scarf in there once it gets cold enuff & if I ever to learn how to wear it without it looking like men’s private parts, LOL!

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SMILE ♪♫
September 24th, 2009 @ 12:14 am

First off let me say:

♥ ♥ ♥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE ミ★♪♫
☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ お誕生日おめでと!!

Her birthday was on Tuesday but she was too much of a butt head to hang out with us celebrating with her dad, so we kidnapped her today. Geez, I understand being oblivious, but how oblivious can one person be? Debbie proved to be very oblivious. The whole day, Kaye & Phana were calling me and I was talking REALLY unnaturally (cause I’m a bad liar ;___;~). I was talking really monotone and in short succinct sentences. I said, “The ladder is in my trunk,” & Debbie still had no idea!! It was really funny though because in the morning, Debbie & I did this “relationship test” on the Sims 3 simulator application for my iTouch and it pointed to me and said, “IS KEEPING A SECRET” Ratted out by my own iTouch, I know, but Debbie had no idea and I just laughed it off. Ha ha ha…..

Anyways! I told her, “By the way, you should call your dad, cause you won’t be seeing him where you’re going tonight ;)” And she whined and punched me. The abuse I take in this relationship .__.!! Anyways, after running around forever picking things&Phana up, we finally met up at Sushi Yoshi in Vienna. Its a really cute little restaurant in a really cute street.

Sushi Yoshi, I kid you not!

Kaye’s mini squid appetizer.

Phana’s california rolls!

My chirashi bowl, AKA FOOD POISONING GALORE D:

Debbie’s sushi & sashimi.

To be honest, I was really afraid of eating raw fish (seeing how I’ve had bad luck with it in the past) but I’m glad I did! It was really interesting, new, & different. Their sushi rice is sooo good. I still can’t stand the texture of raw fish, but at least I managed to get through it even though I did cringe a lot and now I’m feeling very nauseous. Very very nauseous. But I haven’t vomited, yet!

Anyways, we got there pretty late so we left around closing time since we didn’t want to keep the workers there forever waiting on us. It was a really cute atmosphere outside, so we decided to light the candles with cake there. Thing is, we forgot we didn’t have lighters =__=;;~ So we basically asked a bunch of strangers on the street, and none of them were smokers! Either that, or they didn’t wanna give fire starters to little sketchy Asian girls on the street. So Phana & I worked up the courage to go into a restaurant and asked a waiter. ZOMGAH! He interrogated me like crazy cause he was afraid I was going to run off with his lighter. Please! I do not smoke & I’m terrified of fire. I’m not going to run off with your stupid lighter. He’s probably paranoid because he would’ve needed it to smoke later <_<;;

So after risking my life to get that lighter, we went back to our base and tried to light the candles. It was really windy and Kathleen begged me to give up, but I was way too stubborn. So when we finally lit the cake, we sang really quickly so the wind wouldn't blow it out again.

Happy 19th Debbie!

Yummy, wax!

We made Debbie pose by herself LOL!

The flaming lesbian butt-seckz lovers ♥

After all of the fail (and making sure to return the lighter) we realized that we did not have plates, forks, or knives. It’s like one fail after another. So we went back to Kaye’s apartment and had good times! Good times as in, butt raping each other, smelling possibly spoilt milk, & oh yeah. I caked Debbie good.

Rush.
September 19th, 2009 @ 10:38 pm

Today was a rush. Well at least what happened after work was. This weekend was Korus, which is a Korean festival that takes place in Big K-mart’s parking lot (HAHA!). I don’t really know much about who hosts it and stuff, cause basically everything is in Korean (including the posters that were advertising for it). Everyone there speaks Korean, and SOUNDS like you are literally in Korea @__@;; Nerve wrecking, I know. The main reason for us to go was to eat mad overpriced Korean festival food & see Kaba Modern.

Performance Stage!

When we got there, Trang’s boyfriend, Joon, told us he saw Kaba Modern practicing behind Kmart, so Trang, her friend Grace, Nam, & I walked back there and saw a glimpse of them and started squealing like little girls. Before we got enough courage to go talk to them, they were escorted by a van to a tent near the stage. Since we had another good hour to go before they performed, Nam & I went to get us some ph00d while Trang & Grace went to go find seats.

Nam taking bad pictures of us, take one.

Nam taking bad pictures of us, take two.

Sibling picture. Iunno why my eye is so messed up o_x

KABA MODERN VAN!

FREAKING AMAZING FRIED DUKBOGKI!!
OMGAH, HOW I CRAVE FOR MORE :O

There was this food stand there that had a super long long line for fried potato swirls!! But they’re not your ordinary potato swirls, they dip it into the powder flavor of your choice! There was cheese, chili pepper, bulgoli flavored, and more! I got Nam chicken on a stick & they put their shrimp&chicken in the same pile so we were like “UHHHH, DOT DOT DOT.” (Nam’s allergic to seafood for anyone who doesn’t know/remember. Sad I know.)

Yummy MSG powder for your potato swirl!

Fried chicken on a stick & strawberry ice thing!

IMMA FATTiE.

Anyways, we got all of our goodies just in time! Trang & Grace found seats in the WAY front in the center so Nam & I had to push and shove our way strategically through hordes of Korean peoples. We had to scoot pass a row of old people and shove our butts in their face. AWKWARD D; But the performance was amazingggg~ Afterwards, we stood outside their van and I got to touch Cindy Minowa’s arm!! Fairfax County Police people are all mean and grumpy though.

CAMP OUT!

Sorry, not the best quality or non-shakiness!

But to be honest, I only know Kaba Modern cause they were on ABDC Season One in the final three. I’m not a huge follower of ABDC or a fan of Kaba Modern (I don’t know any of their names). So yeah, I guess I am a poser D;~ But hey, I got a huge rush doing something super amazing & super fun, so that’s all that really matters to me :]
