Happy Birthday L Cubed!
April 28th, 2010 @ 2:06 pm

AASucess had their scholarship award ceremony on Saturday, and since Trang won one, Phana & I went to go support her/cheer her on. Before they got to receive their checks, the scholarship recipients each had to answer a question. Her question was on what she would do if she was the governor, what programs would she create to help Asian American students. Well, she basically threw Nam & I under the bus by stating in front of everyone that we waste our parents’ money because we keep changing our majors. So in order for future generations to not waste their parents’ money, she would want to create programs that created more internships and other conferences that would help high schoolers learn about different job fields so that they wouldn’t have to change majors in college like her inadequate siblings ;/

Afterward, Phana & I met up with a bunch of soompiers to go to Six Flags for Mason Day. It only cost $15 to get in, so it was a great deal compared to the normal $55(?). It was pretty chilly/gloomy on that day, so the majority of the park was empty = no lines (: I didn’t bring my camera because I’m sure it was suffering enough from the Sakura Matsuri and I didn’t want to risk it getting wet again ~_~;;

Then we all met up at my house, along with more soompiers to go eat. It was Phana’s birthday, but she specifically told me not to tell anyone. Unfortunately, I was really torn in between pretending it wasn’t her birthday, or telling everyone it was so I went up to people behind her back and went, “Guys~ It’s Phana’s birthday and she told me not to tell you guys and I don’t know what to dooo~ /whine.” To which they replied, “But you just told us so . . .~”

Anyway! I sent them on a wild goose hunt to find a place to eat while I snuck off and bought her balloons and cake. I didn’t take any pictures of people for some reason (forgot D: ), but I did some badly taken pictures of food.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHANA!

Thanks for the hate ;/

p.s. Much thanks to Miso Restaurant for making it happen. They were really nice about everything even though I dumped 15 kids and a cake on them without prior notice (:

When we were finished, we eventually made it back to Kaye’s apartment. Before we made it back there, one of my friends asked me the most blunt/upfront question ever, “Mai, is it weird to give blow jobs?HAHA. I laughed so hard, I almost gagged. The rest of the night was filled with awesomeness from what I could remember.

The next morning, Sunny made us breakfast ;3

Lazy update~
April 27th, 2010 @ 9:20 pm

With finals coming up next week, I’ve barely had any time to sit around and blog, so what better way than to update lazily? Saturday was Phana’s birthday, but I’m actually quite too lazy busy & tired to upload/edit those pictures right now so I’ll save it until I have free time this weekend. So instead, I decided that since I haven’t posted up things that I’ve bought in a while and because

Trang & I bought this much stuff from Forever 21 last week.

And we just got this package from Forever 21 in the mail today.

That it would probably make a good post to post up what I’ve bought lately :{D But you know, since that would involve touching my Lumix, uploading pictures, and then editing it, I just decided to use the photo booth feature on my macbook, making everything a billion times easier.

(I will post a link if its still available online :3)

I am extremely pleased at the percentage of my face that is eaten up by these sunglasses.

These sunglasses can be found here

I really like socks ;3 Possibly to wear with heels, possibly not.

I bought this to match my sister (she got blue), but it doesn’t stay up very well so I’m going to return it ;/

Two bandeau to wear under shirts :3 one & two

Striped skirt. It has pockets & came with the belt.

I got this blue jacket/sweater thing on sale for $9 (:

This looks kinda dull/boring on the front.

But its pretty adorable on the back ;3

Purple jacket.

Purple jacket with awesome lining (although it loses awesome points cause it creates static electricity ;x).

And this is actually a romper I got from H&M (:

Yeah I know I pose pretty obnoxiously, but I DNC (do not care) ;D. Yeah, I also know that my hair is obnoxiously messy and I’m in dire need of a haircut, so hopefully that’ll be happening sometime soon.

Aside from that this movie just recently got released in Vietnam, and I really wanna watch it:

I don’t really know the storyline of this, but from what I can make out from the trailer, it involves Kathy Uyen’s character having a complicated relationship, Johnny Tri playing a gay guy (HAHA, he’s soooo cute), and two gay guys being adorable ;3 I’m actually getting really excited to go back to Vietnam and I can’t wait for school to be over so I can go over there. Yeah, I’m going to gain 20 pounds (I gained 15 pounds last time I went ;w; ). And yeah, I’m going to tan to about 10 shades darker. And yeah, I’m going to eat eaten alive by mosquitoes, but zomgah, Vietnam is mad fun, has yummy foods, and I get to improve my Vietnamese n_n~ Last time I went, I forgot how to speak English for a day, and even my thoughts were in Vietnamese ~_~;;

p.s. My sister keeps complaining that I only have dark colored clothes and I only wear dark colored clothes. I guess she kinda has a point D:

Dancing Pikachu
April 21st, 2010 @ 7:13 pm

I haven’t touched my camera ever since the Sakura Matsuri, so I don’t really have anything to blog about. Phana did manage to upload the video she took of me at the Sakura Matsuri dancing though. I was mad forced into it by my lovely group and they kept on yelling at the girl who owned the boom box to play this song ~_~;; Its like they’re my parents trying to embarrass me in front of the k3wl kids. I left half way because I couldn’t remember the full version, even though Debbie and I practiced it like a bajillion times. (We actually recorded it too, but it sucked too hard so I never uploaded it.)

Well, here you go. I’m sorry but you won’t be getting these two minutes of your life back if you watch it ;/

Afterward, I had to go back home because I had to attend GMU’s VSA Culture Show. The rest of the soompiers met up with more soompiers and had dinner. I normally don’t attend culture shows (especially if they’re four hours long.. That’s longer than Avatar ;_;~), but my brother was in the modern dance and wanted my sister, my dad, and I to come support him. Of course, I willingly obliged, but my sister and I were so miserable because we were STARVING (I only had one pork bun at 11AM that day) and we were confused about the humor for the most part because it was mainly in Vietnamese. I didn’t take many pictures of the culture show because I spilled tea on my camera and was annoyed at the stickiness of it. I did however, take a few pictures of the “traditional” fashion show. All of their ao dai was made out of paper, which was pretty interesting.

Sakura Matsuri Part One
April 12th, 2010 @ 8:06 pm

Saturday was the Sakura Matsuri, or Cherry Blossom Festival, in Washington D.C. I was in charge of hosting a Soompi meet, which is a meet-up that involves soompiers meeting up. We were supposed to have a pretty large turnout but for some reason, everyone bailed last minute without me even knowing D: ~ Sad sad sad! But its okay, even though we had a small turnout, our small group had a lot of fun n_n. I mean, normally every year we get split up because people wanna do different things. This year, because we were small, we all got to stick together (:

Anyways, the night before I didn’t get home until 3AM & didn’t sleep until 4AM. I woke up at 7:30AM and got ready in a flash because Chris, one of the soompiers, was kind enough to offer me a ride to the metro station (to ensure my timeliness). For some odd reason, we ended up in D.C. at 9AM and I was confused as to why I got there so early because the parade didn’t start until 10AM =_=;; Fail on my part much? I TOLD people to be there at 10AM and I somehow managed to show up an hour earlier. Man, think of that extra hour of sleep I could’ve used D:

I dressed up in my pikachu kigurumi for the festive spirit and I thought another girl was going to too, but she never came .__.;;~ Man, am I a loser or what for going through with doing things that I said I would do XD;; ?! At first I was extremely embarassed/flabbergasted/frustrated/spazzy because people kept on staring at me. I don’t know why I expected differently, but oh my google. I felt bad for Chris that he had to deal with me. I actually have the biggest fear of people staring at me & I really hate being stared at. In fact, its so bad that I won’t go to the gym because I’m afraid people will stare at me, as absurd as that sounds (OH WELL, more reason to be a couch potato).

Eventually I got over it because strangers loved meee ;3. Little kids, teenagers, adults, and even old people. This really, really old man accidentally bumped into me, and he said, “Excuse me Pikachu.” HAHA! My face lit up so quickly because I was surprised that someone at his age even knew who/what I was (no offense old people D: ). Weeee~ Lots of people wanted to take pictures of/with me and I was everyone’s hero or I made their day. I was surprised no one else dressed up in a Pikachu kigurumi ;x. When we were leaving, this crying girl at the metro station came up to me and asked me for a hug. Apparently her parents wouldn’t let her go around the festival because it was too crowded and so seeing me made her day and made her light up. I told her all about the festival and how there were girls with a boom box dancing to Love&Joy and Hare Hare Yukai. I even influenced her to run off secretly (all in good fun D:!), but then I got an evil glare from her mom…..;;

n_____n~ Thinking about it makes me happyy! There were just SO many people who loved Pikachu, but I’m not really Pikachu, so that suck, eh? (Might as well have been though, soompiers also made me “pika pika” back to people who said “hi” to me =_=;;) Oh! Honest Tea told me that they would give me a free bottle of tea if I would pose for a picture for them, endorsing their tea. Of course I obliged :{D (But thinking back on it now, makes me regret it because I later spilled that free tea on my Lumix and now my Lumix has extremely sticky buttons and its reallyyy annoying.) Then of course, there were those creepers who took pictures of me “secretly” with their cell phones or camera. Some guy actually walked by and shoved his camera in my face and walked away ;w;~ I would’ve gladly posed if askeddd ):

ANYWAYS, `nuff ranting. Onto the pictures:
