Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010.
January 3rd, 2010 @ 10:35 pm

2009 was the toughest year of my life so far, so I don’t mind saying goodbye. It was the year that made me grow up the most. (Went through depression, panic attacks, severe socially withdrawing, having my dad in the hospital, going through three relationships, tons of family drama, tons of friend drama, being hit on by a pedophile in California (I say pedo cause I’ll always be 17!!)) ( I am a lot better now, thank you for asking (: )

Now I don’t really believe in resolutions cause I’m a flaker, unreliable, lazy, and stating that I will change won’t make me change. So I’d rather list things that I want to do, own, become, etc. as time and money allow.

This list will be changed/updated as I find out more things to do (:

I want to attend/participate in:
International Pillow Fight Day (April 3rd, 2010)
Testical Festival (July-August)
Santa Con (December)
Polar Bear Plunge (January 2011)

I want to own:
★ My first pair of designer shoes.
★ My first designer handbag.
★ More Hello Kitty things.
★ A commissioned cosplay outfit.
★ A self-made cosplay outfit.

I want to: (I guess these kinda count as “resolutions” but at least they’re realistic, kinda)
★ Be able to walk in 4″-5″ heels without being n00b.
★ Design and sew my first article of clothing.
★ Take more effort in my everyday appearance instead of being a slob.
★ Cut back on impulse buying.
★ Redesign my room and closet.
★ Learn more dances!
★ Have time to host more Soompi meet ups.
★ Participate in VSA leadership organizations more, like MAUVSA.
★ Learn the guy parts in Miss You by m-flo to sing with Debbie.
★ Save up money for studying abroad in Japan.

Anyways New Years Eve was very interesting for me. Last year, I spent it in New York with the people closest to me. This year, all the people closest to me dispersed into separate plans that I wouldn’t fit into. My brother went to the Hilton hotel with his friends for a night of open bars and drunkeness. My sister went to go hang out with her girlfriends. Phana was hanging out with her family. Kathleen went to hang out with her other girlfriends. Debbie.. Well I don’t know what she was doing, but she already celebrated it online with her nicodouga peoples when New Years happened in Japan, so yeah.

I was basically left with no one, and was pretty bummed out cause I had no plans whatsoever. Last minute, I was invited to two parties. One with the rest of my brother’s friends who couldn’t afford going to the Hilton, and another invite by my coworker. I went to my brother’s friends house first that night since I felt like it I guess. It was kinda awkward since the majority of the people were arriving late, so everyone who was there early were the early awkward guys who are kinda not the life of the party. Around 11ish, my coworker called me up and told me that if I didn’t go to her party, that she would kill me, so I left the first party with mixed feelings of staying/leaving to go to the second one. (I kinda wanted to stay since I actually knew people there, but didn’t want to cause they’re all heavy alcoholics and I can’t drink very much since I was driving that night and worked the next morning.)

The second party was kinda awkward cause my coworker is half-white and half-Vietnamese, so her dad is white. Apparently he was very excited to meet me cause she doesn’t have any other Vietnamese friends and he talked to me for two hours straight about Vietnam. Yeah, I cared about it enough for the first hour, but he was really old (think grampa old) and for the second hour, he just repeated everything he said for the first hour. He was really cool and nice though. The rest of my coworker’s friends were super cool too but it was like the weirdest gathering of friends cause none of us looked like we fit together. It t’was a crazy night and I had a lot of fun without the need to ingest tons of alcohol (only took two shots of soju sours and one bottle of smirnoff the whole night!)

And to start off the whole trying to improve my everyday appearance thing (as opposed to when I just feel like it, which is neverrrr~) . . .

Outfits on New Year’s Eve

Yay for color & super confused sense of style !!

p.s. Please excuse my lack of blogging. The past three weeks have been hell for me. First week, finals & crazy heavy PMS that I bled all over my bathroom, literally (yay for mental image!). Second week & third week included 39 hours of work a week. Thank goodness holidays are over. Will update about Christmas&etc when I have time to edit the photos cause everything is yellahhhhh.

p.s.s. Did you know the color for 2010 is “transporting turquoise”? I kinda liked the yellow of 2009, iunno how I feel about turquoiseeee.

    I like your outfits!

Setting goals for yourself definitely seems smarter than trying to commit to a single resolution. Which characters do you want to cosplay?

Iunno, I actually don't watch anime that much anymore (cause I'm too lazy to wait for torrents & I don't keep up with new releases) and all the anime I do watch/like have people dressed normally.

Haruhi Suzumiya for sure, but iunno who else.
