New Eats, New Furniture~
June 20th, 2009 @ 1:12 am

On Thursday, Leo and I were around the Dulles/Leesburg area and stopped by Vapiano for lunch. We love finding new places to eat, and the ambiance of Vapiano was very new, modern, zen? Of course we were a bit confused on how to eat there, but the host explained it to us, and its pretty hi-tech.

What you do is, at the front table, they give you a menu and a plastic card. Behind the table, there’s a place with signs labeled pasta, pizza, and salad. You go to the place you want, tell the chef what you want, and then he’ll cook it right in front of you. Then at the end, he puts in what you ordered in a machine, and then you just like wave your plastic card in front of the thing where it tells you to. That means that the guy automatically added your order to your card and so at the end when you leave, you go back to the front table, they scan it, and you pay. Easy peasy :)

Cooking area~

My yummy Alfredo with Parmesan~ (Couldn’t finish it though, due to my decreased appetite D;)

Leo’s bok choy pasta thing with chicken (SOO YUMMY~), side salad, & free bread.

The plastic card thing.

It looks so nice, but can you believe they were playing like gangster music?!

The ordering place is in the back~

A plant at every table.

Olive oil, pepper, salt, and a lamp all in a small marble divider thing.

Afterwards, we went to Leesburg Outlet to do some friendly outside shopping. Leo really liked it because it was a super nice day, and likes outside malls compared to inside malls. I bought a maxi dress at Gap for $14.xx (no picture yet), but I might return it cause its too short for me to be considered a maxi dress :sad:

Today, Leo & I went to Ikea since we didn’t have time on Thursday. I bought a bunch of stuff for my rooms, but there is no room yet since I have to clear out all of this ghettoed, super super old (think like since I was a baby old) furniture. I had a nice computer desk, two actually. However, when the family moved all of my stuff into the smaller room while I was at college, they totally destroyed the nicer&newer computer desk. So what did they do? The put the top half of the nice desk (threw the bottom half away) which is brown, and just put it on top my other computer desk which is white. It is very awkward to sit at, and looks computer stupid.

Pink Chair $25
Silver Bottom $14.99
(WHY IS PINK PLASTIC SO EXPENSIVE?!)

Pink Desk $49.99 → $39.99
My chair costs as much as this desk D;
& is pretty small IRL

Pink Bookshelf $129 → $99

Rocks $1.49
Light Bulbs $2.99
Lamp $8.99
Vase $4.99
Straight Bamboo $1.99/each
Curly Bamboo $2.99

OMGAH~ I can’t wait to put it all in my room! I spent a total of $212.xx, and it was like the best money I’ve ever spent :3~ It was a lot cheaper than I expected too! I think it was because they were having a sale and clearancing out all of their pink furniture. Not so useful for pink haters, but lucky for me! I was totally expecting to pay like $400 to $500. Its pretty weird too, cause I was looking at Xiaxue’s post on her princess room, and we now own the same pink furniture. Leo called me crazy, & then I laughed at him n_n;;

Next on my list, I am planning to buy this:

Pink Drawer Chest $69.99

Its super cute, but why so expensive D;~ Its a good thing I didn’t buy it, cause it would have definitely not fit into the car.

Aside from that, I really need to stop going to Ikea! Its like literally draining munniez out of my wallet. Normally at the mall, I would never buy an exact outfit from the mannequin. However, at Ikea, I’m like, “OMGAH. That bamboo looks awesome in that overpriced vase, and I need those exact rocks too!” To make matters worse, they had a sign on how to feng shui, and three bamboos = happiness, so I had to buy two more to go with my first curly one ;__;~ Man, they are so clever with convincing me that I need things… BTW, will take pictures of actual items when I clean my room & assemble it.

Anyways, today my dad switched us from Cox Cable to Direct TV~ So far I love it cause the quality is sooo clear from compared to cox cause my cable from cox kept on getting damaged so it suxxorz. The only bad thing is that I have to relearn all the channels :/~

    I only had channels up to like 99 on mine.

    I think they're switching cause Cox keeps on raising their prices~ We were going to get FiOS, but its not in our neighborhood yet :(

    the CPK is at fairfax corner! i'd definitely say it was nicer (better view and atmosphere). also rays hell burger isnt expensive. my burger was 17$ but thats only because i ordered expensive ingredients. the burgers are normally ~$8 and they are seriously HUGEEE. Half could fill you up!

    That restaurant sounds really cool, but really complex! I think I'd be too confused the first time I went there, lol, but that is a really good idea.
    And the pink furniture is adorable! I'm jealous :)
